BIZI-DRINKS project aims to research and develop functional fermented beverages aligned with new trends in healthy and sustainable eating.

The proposed project revolves around several strategic pillars, such as the sustainability and health of the agri-food system. It is an innovative initiative that will operate as a pilot project, creating a range of beverages with functional potential and high gastronomic value.

The project covers the design of beverages across different categories, including plant-based fermented dairy analogs, probiotic-potential beverages based on fruits and vegetables, postbiotic beverages, and products derived from by-products generated throughout the value chain, thus promoting circular economy principles and reducing food waste.

Throughout the project, production and fermentation processes will be developed and standardized to optimize the creation of bioactive compounds beneficial to health.

The impact of the BIZI-DRINKS project will result in the development of new healthy products, the optimization of fermentation technologies, and the strengthening of the functional beverage sector. The outcomes will contribute to innovation within the agri-food and gastronomic fields, offering sustainable and healthy solutions that meet current consumer demands.
